Flagstaff, AR (My Sportsbook) - The Arizona Cardinals Tuesday acquired running back Troy Hambrick and defensive end Peppi Zellner from the Oakland Raiders for an undisclosed 2005 draft pick. Hambrick took over the starting role as running back for the Cowboys last season after the club released Emmitt Smith. The irony is that some feel that Hambrick helped push the NFL's all-time leading rusher out the door in Dallas, and know they are teammates again in Arizona. Head coach Dennis Green has already named Smith his starter for the 2004 season. The Cardinals lost running back Marcel Shipp for at least two months in early August due to a dislocated left ankle. The 27-year-old Hambrick, who rushed for 972 yards and five touchdowns last season, was released in May. He then signed with the Raiders, but became expendable due to the Raiders' crowded backfield that includes Tyrone Wheatley, Justin Fargas and Zack Crockett. Zellner also broke in with the Cowboys, playing for the squad from 1999-2002. He spent the 2004 season with the Washington Redskins, posting one sack in 16 games. In 73 career games, Zellner has registered 124 tackles with seven sacks.
