Chiefs release Long NFL Football 08/31/2010

Chiefs winless in last 7 preseason games NFL Football 08/29/2010

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The last time the Kansas City Chiefs won a preseason game, their coach was Herm Edwards and their president was George W. Bush.

The Chiefs are, in fact, the only team in the NFL without a single preseason win since 2008. A loss on Thursday night to Green Bay will have them dragging an 0-4 exhibition mark into the regular season for the second straight year - not exactly a confidence-builder for a franchise trying to gain traction after winning a paltry 10 regular-season games the past

Chiefs' Sheffield released from hospital NFL Football 08/28/2010
Kansas City, MO (MySportsbook) - Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Cameron Sheffield has been released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury in Friday's preseason game against Philadelphia. Sheffield, who has movement in all his extremities, suffered the injury in the third quarter of Friday's contest when he was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision. He was then immobilized and carted off the field. Sheffield was a 2010 fifth-round pick out of Troy.

If anyone can speak to the mentality of a 40-year-old quarterback, it's Dawson. The Hall of Famer and Super Bowl winner is one of the select group to play the position at that age, when he started five games for the Kansas City Chiefs in his final season in 1975.

The Chiefs were rebuilding then, which made that final year painful in more ways than one for Dawson. He recalled taking a hit so hard in a game against Baltimore that he knew he couldn't go on much longer.

Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles limps off against Eagles NFL Football 08/27/2010

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles limped away near the end of the first half of Friday night's preseason game after being forced out of bounds by Philadelphia's Nate Allen.

Charles, who rushed for 1,120 yards last season, took a short pass from Matt Cassel and was just going out of bounds when Allen pushed him out with a hit around the ankles. He seemed to be holding his right arm but it was not immediately clear where Charles was hurt.

The half ended with Philadelphia

Chiefs open Hall of Honor at Arrowhead NFL Football 08/25/2010

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Kansas City Chiefs have opened their Hall of Honor in the renovated Arrowhead Stadium, and it's expected to become a favorite destination for fans on game days.

The museum pays homage to the 50-year history of the Chiefs and the legacy of the American Football League, which Lamar Hunt founded in 1959 after the NFL refused to sell him a franchise.

The Hall of Honor was built as part of Arrowhead's $325 million renovation and was opened during a ceremony Wednesday evening.

But the Eagles won't get back tight end Cornelius Ingram for their third preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ingram spent his rookie season on injured reserve and is still battling knee problems.

He was scheduled to have an MRI Wednesday. Ingram is penciled in as the No. 2 tight end behind Brent Celek.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All righ
